About us
Who does the work
Nelly’s Construction is a small family business based in Bracknell. We have built patios, driveways and gardens across Berkshire, Surrey and South Buckinghamshire for over 20 years, and we are fully insured.
What we build
The patios we lay
PorcelainLarge, flat slabs with tight joints, in greys, creams and stone colours.
Natural sandstoneWarm, mixed colours, often finished with a setts or block edge.
Natural slateDark, smooth stone, for patios, paths and steps.
Indian stoneRiven or sawn stone in greys, buffs and mixed tones.
How the job goes
Four stages, the same on every patio
Dig out
We dig out the area to the depth the patio needs.
Sub-base
A compacted sub-base goes down, laid to a fall so rain runs off.
Laying
Each slab is bedded and levelled. Steps and edges are built as we go.
Pointing
The joints are pointed and the patio is cleaned off.
