About us
Nelly’s Construction Ltd is responsible for the personal information we use when you visit our website, contact us or become a customer.
For questions about your information, contact us at:

What we collect and why
If you ask about a project, we collect the details you give us, such as your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, message and any photos you send. For quotations and work, we may also need the property address, access arrangements, project details and payment records. Please avoid including unnecessary information about other people in photos or messages.
We use this information to answer questions, prepare quotations, arrange and carry out work, provide aftercare and keep necessary business records. We normally obtain it from you, but may receive an enquiry through a directory, referral or someone contacting us on your behalf.
Our website also processes technical information, including IP addresses and browser details, to deliver pages and protect against spam or misuse.
We rely on:
- Contract: information needed to provide a quotation you request or carry out our agreement with you.
- Legitimate interests: answering general enquiries, managing business contacts, protecting our website and dealing with complaints or claims.
- Legal obligations: keeping required accounting records and meeting other applicable legal requirements.
If we do not have the information needed to assess or contact you about a job, we may be unable to provide a suitable quotation or service.
Cookies and website services
This notice describes our public website at www.nellysconstruction.co.uk. It uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site. Analytics uses cookies and processes information about visits, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser details, and interactions with the website. The public website currently has no on-site statistics-consent control; this notice does not mean that Analytics waits for your permission before loading.
You can restrict or delete cookies through your browser settings. This may affect how some website features work and does not necessarily prevent every request to a third-party service.
Where pages use Google Maps, reCAPTCHA spam protection, Google-hosted fonts or embedded Facebook content, those services can receive technical information when loaded. Google-hosted fonts help display the site’s text. Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp links lead to platforms with their own privacy policies. Contacting us through a platform also involves that platform processing information.
See Google’s privacy policy, Meta’s privacy policy and WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
Who we share information with
We share information where needed to respond to your enquiry, carry out work, operate the website or meet legal requirements. Depending on the circumstances, this can involve our team, tradespeople working on your job, our accountant, insurers or professional advisers.
Our website is supported by WebUpp and hosted through 20i. Website email is delivered through 20i’s Stackmail infrastructure. Website backups are stored using Backblaze B2 in an EU bucket. These providers may process information on our behalf. Google and social platforms also process information when their services are used.
Some providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States. EU backup storage is not a guarantee that every provider operation takes place in the EU.
Google’s Analytics data-processing terms include provisions for international transfers and contractual safeguards where applicable. You can read Google’s processing terms and international-transfer information. Backblaze publishes UK data-processing terms. These documents explain the providers’ arrangements; we have not yet confirmed the specific transfer mechanism applicable to every provider and use. Contact us for further information about the arrangements relevant to your information.
How long we keep information
We have not confirmed fixed retention periods or a routine review/deletion schedule for customer correspondence, project records and photos. We cannot currently give a fixed deletion date for these records. Some records need to be kept for ongoing work, aftercare and warranty needs, accounting requirements or complaints and claims; this does not mean that every enquiry or photo needs the same retention period.
Website enquiry entries and optional uploaded photos currently have no automatic age-based deletion period configured. They may remain stored after an enquiry or job has finished. You can contact us to ask about information we hold or request deletion, subject to applicable rights and exceptions.
Google Analytics is configured to retain event-level data for two months, with its retention clock reset by new activity. This is not a two-month expiry for all aggregated reports. Website mail logs have a configured limit of 250 messages, and the live backup system is configured to retain 100 file backups and 100 database backups. These are counts, not numbers of days or a promise that every copy is deleted at a fixed age.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to see your information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or receive certain information in a portable form. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful use unlawful.
Your right to object: you can object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests. Contact us using the details above to exercise this right.
Contact us using the details above to make a request or withdraw consent for a use where we rely on consent. Requests are normally free; we may need to confirm your identity and will respond within the applicable legal time limit. Some rights have conditions or exceptions. Browser cookie controls are described above; there is currently no live Manage consent control on this website.
Questions or complaints
Email, telephone or write to us if you have a concern about your information. We will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days, investigate without unnecessary delay, keep you informed and explain the outcome.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. You do not lose that right by contacting us first.
We will update this notice when our use of information changes.
